Process Technology
Nine-month positions with possibility of summer employment to teach process safety, health and environmental issues,
process equipment and systems, instrumentation and control, troubleshooting, and more.
Applicants must have an Associate Degree in Process Technology or BS degree in Engineering (MS degree preferred);
plus 10 years experience in the Process Industry with at least 5 years in plant operations or maintenance.
Automotive Technology
Adjunct Instructor position available for the fall semester. Certification required: ASE Master Automobile Technician.
Work experience required: five years as a Master Technician. Post-secondary teaching experience preferred but not required.
Associate degree or diploma in field or related a plus.

Chair for Department of Nursing
Sowela invites applications from dynamic, student-centered individuals for the position of Department Chair for Nursing.
This position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Student Success. The Department Chair will provide
leadership for all of the major unit functions for the following areas: Course Scheduling and Staffing, Curriculum Development,
Policy Development, Student Recruitment, Faculty Recruitment, Faculty Evaluations, Professional Development and Budget Management.
The successful candidate must possess at minimum the credentials to meet SACS/COC guidelines and possess a Master’s degree with
graduate courses in nursing education. Candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience supervising academic programming at the
college level. Applicant should demonstrate leadership and accomplishments in the field of nursing. Applicant must have demonstrated
supervisory abilities, the capability to work with others in solving problems, and experience moving projects forward to successful completion.
Strong oral and written communication skills and a willingness to assume multiple new assignments are essential.

Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administrative Services
The Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administrative Services reports directly to the Chancellor and is responsible for the college’s budget,
business operations, payroll, purchasing, investment management and grants/contracts.
This individual must be a team leader, who demonstrates integrity and strong character, possesses high energy,
sets high standards, monitors results, takes corrective action, and exercises the ability to make difficult decisions.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate will be a seasoned finance professional possessing a Master’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. A CPA is preferred.
- Uses management and interpersonal skills to be an effective communicator and supervisor.
- Demonstrates successful fiscal and senior management experience that shows a record of initiative, independent judgment and outstanding performance in a complex service organization.
- Thinks strategically and possesses a broad institutional perspective, excellent finance and planning skills, and a collaborative leadership style.
- Demonstrates knowledge of automated accounting systems and competency in business management practices.
- Possesses visionary leadership, and team building skills.
- Previous experience in higher education and governmental accounting is desired.

Senior Accounting Specialist
Sowela invites applications from enthusiastic, self-motivated professionals to apply for Senior Accounting Specialist.
This is a full-time, permanent, administrative/professional position, reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance. This
position performs responsible, advanced and difficult work in the maintenance of complex accounting records and reports.
Candidates must possess an associate's degree in a business related field preferred or three (3) years of responsible experience as a
bookkeeper or in accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Candidates must possess knowledge of accounting
practices and procedures; knowledge of the college procedures involving accounting; knowledge of computerized accounting systems;
knowledge of sentence structure; knowledge of word usage; skill in reading comprehension; knowledge of mathematics and basic accounting;
the ability to keyboard at a prescribed rate of speed and accuracy; the ability to operate a calculator; the ability to operate data entry
equipment; communications skills; and the ability to deal with employees, students and outside agencies.
